fuck resolutions: 50 things in 1 year, need your help!posted Jan 7th 2010, 3:50AM
Mood: ALIVE!
New Years resolutions can suck it. Everyone forgets what their resolution is by March or April. My friend made a list of 100 things to do in a year, which is a GREAT idea. They're all simple and a little challenging and new! So I'm doing the same, except like 70% of my time will be schooling, so my list is shorter. 50 things to do in 1 year!
I need help finishing it, though. I got 21 things. Help me out?
1. knit a blanket
2. send post cards to the girls
3. go vegetarian for 1 month
4. bake a pie for Emily
5. finish Atlas Shrugged
6. give blood
7. get Frost tattoo
8. get my G2 [license]
9. sing karaoke
10. complete one major CG
11. visit Caroline/Lena in Toronto
12. visit Emily in Ottawa
13. pull an all-nighter
14. spend a day in bed with Simon Pegg movies
15. finish Angel's leg warmers
16. knit Angel arm warmers
17. knit Neal a scarf
18. knit Kim a matching hat
19. watch season 1 of original Star Trek
20. draw a picture, mail it to a stranger across the country
21. call distant aunt and uncles independent of my parents
You can give me more than one suggestion if you're on a roll. I might actually make it 100 and see how far I get!
AHHHHH I just finished the second season and the goodbye was SO SAD ;___; x2324ahfoahf82e0q89413! And then the last bit with the bride was just hilarious and keeping with the random Doctor Who style. I gotta go back and watch the first season, I started watching with the second season cuz I love David Tennant over the first guy.
Yeah, I gotta say he's kinda growing on me. He's got the gruff look which contrasts against the quirky/cute stuff he does sometimes. I can't wait to get back to David Tennant though ;
Yeah, David Tennant is my favourite. Gwaaaaaah he's so cuuuuuuuttteee!!
You know he's actually Scottish? So in the 2nd season when he had to pretend to be Scotish for Queen Victoria, that was his real accent? HEHE LOVE IT!
I know! I gotta say, Scottish guys are so cute I youtubed around and I saw a clip of david Tennant in a spoof on Doctor Who! He was in DRAG! It was amazing, lol. Also, there was a real 'weakest link' show with some of the cast of Dr Who on it. I've downloaded it already, lol. And the last two episodes of season 2 (I think) was based on that.
You youtubed him! What have I created? ! You, my dear, have a little crush on the Tennant!
It's okay, I've got one on Dev Patel (the guy from Slumdog Millionaire). He's also tall and skinny. And he's 18 and from London and a huge dork.
Indeed I do BUT HE'S LEAVINGGGGGGGGG ;___________; And some new guy's coming on. I can't say I like his appearance as much as david Tennant. Wonder where the Tennant is going next?
I still have to watch that movie. Sometime soon, since I hear it's so good. It's a toss up between that and Watchmen, lol.
I KNOOOOOW but it's okay we have THREE FULL SEASONS of Tennant that we can watch and re-watch and LOVE! He's probably just going to do his own thing, he does theatre (I don't know if he still does), but I'm quite sure he won't be out of work. He's too cute.
Watch them both, I hear Watchmen is great too (if you've read the book). I absolutely LOVE the music in Slumdog. Indian stuff and M.I.A! WICKED.
He really is too cute I loved that weird motion he did in the unicorn and the wasp after he dispelled the cyanide. The one where he twists his head a little and makes some weird clicking noise (with maybe a wink as a side dish?) LOL I dunno, I just watched the episode last night.
Watchmen is AMAZING (the book). Really makes you think about how society would treat superheroes, the ones who are normal humans who have extreme personalities and actual superbeings who have cosmic powers etc.
Yes. You have definitely fallen for the Doctor. Welcome to the club. I can't say I remember that sound, but I only watched that episode once, back in like... January? Glad you're enjoying it, though!
I will look into Watchmen sometime when I have a spare minute to read it. lol
Yeah, gotta say that it's shaping up to be one of my favourite episodes with the tenth doctor. I'm nearing the end of the fourth season and it's making me sad! ;__; I want it to go on foreverrrrr
Or if not Watchmen, then check out The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. It's LEGENDARY! I actually have digital files of it (shh) and I can give them to you if you're interested ;]
Digital files my ass, I had to read the entire Harry Potter series in digital files. Never again!
I think Blink is one of my favourites. And The Shakespeare Code. The Unicorn and the Wasp is definitely up there too. I thought Midnight was creepy. Season 5 begins in like 2010. lol You'll have to be patient.
You know I only got into Doctor Who because Kim sent me a flare on Facebook that said "Dust off your converse - time to save the universe!" and I thought that was a wicked saying but I had no idea what it came from. Turns out it's for the return of Doctor Who. lol
Yeah, but this is a graphic novel with a lot more pictures than words :] So it'll kinda be like manga, lol.
Blink is awesome, thanks for showing it to me first. I also liked the first episode of the fourth season because of the pantomime session between Donna and the Doctor, lol. I didn't think I'd like Donna, but she grew on me. And the one where the Doctor thought he was a real human - The Family of Blood. I liked him and hated him at the same time sometimes.
That is a great catchphrase. Damn, I'm gonna miss Tennant ;__;
In that episode, he WAS human. He had to change his species to hide from the family of blood because they can smell the Time Lord on him!
I totally love Donna. She's so cheeky, and has absolutely no interest in the Doctor. It was so sad about Martha. :( But you see her in season 4 anyway. I'm gonna miss Tennant toooo!! I'm not sure I like the new guy they have (Matt Smith). He looks kind of evil. DEFINITELY not as cute as David Tennant! He's also the youngest actor to play the Doctor. He looks too much like a kid to be revered all over the universe.
Aw, you totally don't need a person to teach you! My roommate from my first year in university taught me the basic knit stitch and I pretty much took it from there. It's so wicked easy after you get the hang of working with the needles (at first, it's awkward, like watching a deer learn to walk). I found a neat little video on YouTube that teaches you all the basic things, which is pretty much casting on, knitting and casting off. This video's version of cast on is different from what I do, but it looks easier to do it by hand than with needles.

Also, http://www.knittinghelp.com/ has the answer to any knitting query, and a forum if you have any problems.
No big!
Knitting supplies are surprisingly everywhere. lol I never noticed because I never used to look for them. Wal Mart has them, for sure, and a small array of yarn (not as good as a craft store like Michael's but good for starting out).
